つくりかけラボは、「五感でたのしむ」「素材にふれる」「コミュニケーションがはじまる」いずれかのテーマに沿った公開制作やワークショップを通して空間をつくり上げていく、参加・体験型のアーティストプロジェクトです。いつでも誰でも、空間が変化し続けるクリエイティブな「つくりかけ」を楽しみ、アートに関わることができる表現の場です。

船橋を拠点に活動する千葉県在住の美術家 荒井恵子さんは、手漉きの和紙と様々な色合いを持つ墨を制作のパートナーとし、それら一つ一つの個性に寄り添うように作品をつくり続けてきました。本プロジェクトでは、あたたかくしなやかな和紙の懐（フトコロ）に包まれ、その手触りを楽しみ、白い紙の表面で躍動する墨の醍醐味（ダイゴミ）を味わうための和の空間が、美術館の中に出現します。

“Art Lab” is a participatory, hands-on artist project creating spaces through open production and workshops on any of the themes of “Enjoying with the five senses”, “Feeling and sensing materials”, and “The start of communication”.

Artist Keiko Arai has been working with handmade washi paper and various shades of sumi ink as partners in her artworks. She has continued to create works of art that are nestled in the individuality of each of these materials. This time, the lab will be a space where visitors can be enveloped in the warm and supple embrace of washi, enjoy its texture, and savor the true essence of the ink that moves on the surface of the paper.

「和紙」と「墨」に触れる空間

日本の伝統的な和紙と墨の世界を障子のある空間で体感してください。その空間は、世代の違いで懐かしくもあり、新しくもあるかもしれません。変化が激しい今の社会で、時間をゆっくり感じるひと時を和紙や墨に触れながら過ごしてみてください。それは私がいつもアトリエで制作しながら感じている魅力ある時間と同じです。

和紙のある空間はどことなく優しく、その光も柔らかで、落ち着きます。かつて日本家屋に襖や障子として使用していた和紙も今では当たり前ではなくなっています。

制作にあたり和紙や墨は私にとって大切なパートナーです。それらを深く知ることから、表現が始まっていると感じています。和紙の特徴も墨の魅力も味わえる空間にどうぞ遊びにいらしてください。

A space where you can feel washi paper and sumi ink

Experience the world of traditional washi paper and sumi ink in a space with shoji screens. The space may be nostalgic or new, depending on the generation. In today’s rapidly changing society, spend a moment here to feel time slowly while touching washi paper and sumi ink. This experience mirrors the captivating moments
I consistently encounter in my studio during the creative process.

A space with washi paper is somehow gentle, and its light is soft and calming. Washi paper used to be used in Japanese houses as fusuma (sliding doors) and shoji (paper sliding screens), but nowadays it is no longer commonplace.

Washi and sumi are important partners in my work. I feel that my expression begins with a deep knowledge of them. Please come and visit this space where you can enjoy the characteristics of washi paper and the charm of sumi ink.
